William Russell Rice, Jr., passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack in his home Friday, October 10, 2014. Mr. Rice was the son of Edna Curdts Rice and the late William Russell Rice, Sr.Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 13, in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at Noon. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery. Dr. Cecil Kirk and Rev. Dan Camp will officiate.He is survived by 3 children, Alyson Rice Robinson (Jimmy) of Germantown, TN, William Russell Rice III, (Rebecca) of Auburn, AL, and Eliza Rice Kolakowski (Jonathan) of Nashville, TN; and nine grandchildren, Jimbo, Alex, Caitlin, Jemison, Abby, H.T., Jack, Bodhi and River. He is also survived by his brothers, Paul F. Rice (Lisa), G. David Rice and a sister, Janet Craig Stallings (Tom), all of Jackson, TN.Mr. Rice graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he played football and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was an attorney with his father and brother in the law firm of Rice and Rice.Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Jackson, TN, and LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
