

Marty was a lifelong resident of the Jackson area and attended South Side High School. Throughout his working years, he was employed by Jackson General Hospital and later by Hobby Lobby. Known for his generous spirit and servant’s heart, Marty dedicated countless hours to helping others through Meals on Wheels. His commitment to serving his community earned him numerous awards and recognitions, including being named Volunteer of the Year.
An outdoorsman at heart, Marty enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting. In his younger years, he was a proud member of the Parkburg Hunting Club, where he shared many memorable experiences and friendships.
Above all, Marty cherished his family and the relationships he built throughout his life. His kindness, humor, and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Marty is survived by his brother, Barry Weger (Marti) of Jackson; his sisters, Sharon Weger Hall of Jackson and Denise Weger Sanders-Wilson of Guys, Tennessee; his nieces, Amanda Cline (Chad), Sandi Hampton (Clay), Gracie Roberson (Reed), Ashlie Hurst (Joseph), and Jodie Sanders; his nephews, Gregory Weger, Barry Hall (Stephanie), Matthew Sanders, Kirk Sanders (Tashanna), and Jamie Nixon (Danielle); his great-nieces, Courtney Burns (Kristin) and Lauren Weger; his great-great-nephew, Eli Phelps; and his great-great-nieces, Emrey and Ella Burns and Emma and Easton Nixon.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents and other beloved family members who welcomed him home into the presence of the Lord.
A graveside service celebrating Marty’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Parkburg Cemetery, 1180 Parkburg Road, Pinson, Tennessee 38366.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that Marty has gone to be with the Lord and is reunited with those he loved who have gone before him.
