Aaron B. Collier Jr.

COLLIER Aaron B. Collier, Jr., (Dick), a/k/a Pookie by all who knew and loved him died peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on August 23, 1925. He is survived by his three sons, Richard B. (Pat), Nashville, TN, William C. (Marilyn), Birmingham, AL and A. Brooks , III (Susie), Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, John (April) Collier, Tricia Paulley (John), Chris Collier (Kristi), Tracie Blair (Ryan), Julie Schwoebel (Ryan), Laura Russ (Robert), Catie Collier (fianc , Zachary Kerr) and Aaron Collier, IV; granddaughter by love, Allishia Edmonds (fiance' Joshua Bauman); great grandchildren, Kendall and Jake Collier, Ella, Ian, Campbell and Kayla Paulley, Reagan and Taylor Collier, Collier and Bailey Blair, Clayton Schwoebel, Libby Russ, Isabella and Henry Kerr. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife of 64 years, Betty Collier; as well as two great grandchildren, Ava and Grace Collier. Dick was a long time member of Edgewood Avenue Christian Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens, 729 South Edgewood Avenue. Services will be held on Saturday, January 11 @ 10:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens, 729 South Edgewood Avenue; Reverend Jonathon Lovelady officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate and loving care from the entire staff at the St. Vincent's Medical Center and St. Catherine's Laboure Manor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Edgewood Avenue Christian Church or St. Vincent's Healthcare Foundation.
