Abood H. Shediac

Abood H. Shediac, age 103, passed away peacefully November 13, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Abood was a World War II veteran who later retired from civil service after working at several US naval bases for 35 years. He was a proud veteran with a deep love for his country.

Abood lived a beautiful life full of love, laughter, kindness, and friendship. He took great pride in his garden, liked playing cards, and enjoyed going to the VFW to dance. He especially loved spending time with family and friends.

Abood was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Rosa Shediac; his father and mother, Habib and Salena Shediac; his two brothers, Jabour and Esper Shediac; his sister, Sadie Abdullah; and his sons-in-law, Herb Romig and John K. Carlisle.

He is survived by his devoted children, Grace S. Carlisle, Susan Ryan (Mike), and Becky Romig (Esse); his grandchildren, Kimberly Carlisle Shore, Jay Carlisle (Amy), Mike Ryan (Julie), and Melissa Ryan; his great-grandchildren, Caroline Shore, Christian Shore, Catherine Shore, Violet Carlisle, Charlie Ryan, and Scarlett Carlisle; his sister, Frances Meeks, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Abood will be deeply missed and will live forever in our hearts. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jax., FL 32207.
