

Our deeply loved mother, sister, and grandmother, Adla (Juliette) Bateh Butros, joined God in eternal life on November 3, 2015. She was born in Ramallah, Palestine, on November 25, 1937 and immigrated to the United States in 1967.
Adla was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be so deeply missed by her family, but her generous spirit, unconditional love, and feisty sense of humor will stay with them always. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church and the Ramallah Club.
Adla is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Sami, her parents, Saleem and Nimeh Bateh, her brothers, Shukry Bateh (Suad), Said Bateh (Vera), and Fuad Bateh (Renee).
She is survived by her daughters, Sonia Hassan (Esa), Rana Kazaleh (Freddie), and Lenette Kaperak (John); her siblings, Nabeeha Shalley (William), Saleema Zarou (Salim), Adel Bateh (Armallina), Naimeh Butrus (Jad), Karimeh Bateh (Kamal); grandchildren, Lauren, Courtney, Matthew, Mallory, and Luke, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 PM on Thursday, November 5 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 6300 Bowden Road, Jacksonville, FL with Trisagion service at 7 PM with the Very Rev. Archpriest Kamal Al-Rahil, officiating. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, November 6, also at St. George Antiochian Church with burial following at Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd.
