Al was an inspiration to us at local dance facilities where he exhibited gentlemanly manners.  Al seldom remained idle regardless of the type of dance presented.  He kept up with the youngest and, while slow, kept his step.  It has been our pleasure to have met Al Stein.  Again, an inspiration who will not soon be forgotten.

Al's gentlemen friends and dancing  partners will always cherish the many fond memories made at Arlington Senior Citizen Center.  He will be sorely missed by all his dancing friends!

I knew "Al" from various ballroom dances in the Jacksonville area.  He was definitely a true gentleman and enjoyed dancing immensely.  He danced every dance and was considerate by inviting us single ladies - who did not come with dance partners - to dance.  Al was an accomplished dancer in all the various Ballroom and Latin dance forms.  He was a model for courteous and respectful behavior toward everyone, especially women.  That trait was appreciated and will be duly missed.  He was a rarity that many of us would dare to emulate.

Al was a wonderful friend.  We sat at the same table at Arlington Sr Center.  Al was a very kind and loving man.  We will greatly miss him.

Malcolm and I met Al a few years ago when we were introduced to Ballroom dance.  Al was a neat gentleman who loved to dance and usually was on the dance floor the entire evening.  He was not intimidated if you were an accomplished dancer and was very patient with you if you were a novice.  On one occasion, he saw us sitting and talking instead of dancing.  His comment was, “you can talk to him anytime, come Lana, let's dance”.  Therefore, we did.  I always made a point to save a dance for Al when we attended the dances at Boleros and the Arlington Senior Citizens Center.    Among other hobbies, Malcolm is a photographer and enjoys taking pictures at these functions.  He captured many photos of Al dancing and Al later would refer to him as his “personal photographer”.    We are so very sorry to hear of his passing and want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I danced with him in a mixer when I first joined the club ,and enjoyed his love of the dance every time he came to a dance. He had his special style, and a twinkle in his eye.He will be missed at our Friday night dances at River-City Singles.

When Al started coming to Lane Wiley,  he wanted all of us to help him learn how to  dance and he mastered all of the dances.  He became a wonderful dancer there, the ballroom and then on Friday night at KC. He danced all night until time to go home---

Al sat at the table with about eight of us and he kept telling me that I  should win from the raffle we had every Friday night.  I didn't win for a long time until Al  took my hands in his and told me I would win. And he was right. I did win. 

Last night at KC,  our President  told all about Al passing and of course we were all saddened.  And although he was gone, I know that  he was there with us in spirit as I won again last night!!! 

We are all blessed to have known Al and we will never forget him.
