Alice graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1958. She retired from the Duval County school board after 30 years of service at Oak Hill Elementary school where she touched the lives of many children. She was a devoted mother who raised her children to be honest, kind, accepting, and respectful of others. She was a great example of that by welcoming and caring for everyone she met. These values will continue in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Alice enjoyed cooking homemade meals for family and loved ones. She passed along her love of cooking by spending time cooking with both the students at school and her grandchildren at home. Friends and family will continue trying to make meatballs, eggrolls, and spaghetti sauce that live up to what she served. Anytime spent with her made you think she had a very large family because so many called her Mom or Grandma. She had an ability to make them feel that level of love and comfort with her. Alice has always been an amazing example of someone devoted to family, friends, children, and community. We are blessed to have had her in our lives.
