Alice Jane Feuerborn Schill, 93, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on August 16, 2026. Alice was a loving sister and aunt and loved her neighbors and friends from all over the world. She was generous to many charitable groups locally, nationally and internationally.
Alice was born on February 18, 1933, at her home in rural Anderson County, Kansas. Alice was the youngest daughter of Anthony Jerome and Marie Benus Feuerborn. Alice attended a one room country school before attending and graduating from Garnett High School. She graduated from Central Business College in Kansas City, Missouri in 1951. Alice then travelled the world while working for the government, including living two years in Moracco before returning to her home in Florida. Alice continued her work for the government as Clerk of the District Bankruptcy Court until her retirement in 1981.
Alice loved to travel within the United States and all around the world. She travelled with a small adventure group up until a few years ago when she decided cruising was more suitable for her age group. Alice really enjoyed cruising with her niece, Jane, and most recently the two of them spent almost a month cruising around Australia.
Although Alice did not belong to any one church, she did have a personal relationship with Jesus throughout her life. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Marie Feuerborn, Garnett, Kansas, one sister, Shirley Elgin, Kansas City, Missouri, and a brother, Jack Feuerborn, Garnett, Kansas. Alice is survived by one brother, Jerry Feuerborn (Ellie), McPherson, Kansas, one niece, Jane Serene (James Parnell) of Salina, Kansas, and scores of neighbors and friends, in particular the group of friends she played bridge with. She leaves behind a legacy of perseverance and strength. Alice was fearless in all she did.
May we take solace in the many beautiful memories we shared with Alice and the knowledge that she is now restored to her creator and free from pain and suffering, and most of all, in our living hope of Jesus Christ, that through Him, we may not say “goodbye” to Alice, but “until we meet again” one day in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held in Garnett, Kansas at a later date. Memorial gifts may be given in Alice’s name to the charity of your choice.
