

Andrew William Brown, age 83, passed away in Jacksonville, FL while under the care of Baptist Hospital on November 19, 2019. Andy was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 1, 1936. His parents were the late Andrew William and Artie Lois Brown both of Georgia.
Andy attended Landon High School in Jacksonville, FL. He and several school mates had a dance band and played at local venues. Shortly after graduating, Andy joined the Coast Guard and honorably served his country. Outside of being a loving father and provider for his family, Andy’s hobbies included fishing, Nascar, coaching his son’s baseball team, Boy Scout Troop leader for his son’s and Georgia Bulldog football. His greatest passion was bar-b-que and was well known for his ability to tempt anyone’s taste buds. One of his most cherished events was cooking for his favorite Nascar Driver, Dale Earnhardt “The Intimidator”. Andy was an avid fisherman and participated in several tournaments throughout the state, including Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital, and Pacetti’s Fish Camp. Andy was a friend to all and came to the rescue for so many during their time of need. He was a kind, loving man and always believed in service to others.
Andy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Francis Brown. He is survived by his three sons, Michael Brown (Michele), Wesley Brown (Elizabeth) and Tim Brown (Tracey). He was the proud grandfather of Amanda, Tyler (Samantha), Andrew, AJ, Madison and great grandfather to Logan and Liliana.
The family would like to thank Andy’s loving friend, companion and caregiver Faith Welch, for the amazing and loving care she gave Andy.
