

Angela Lynn Claxton, 69, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Although she faced a sudden and difficult passing, she was surrounded by her family in her final moments, holding her with love and gratitude.
Born on June 8, 1955, in Jacksonville, Angie was the daughter of Gene Claxton and the late Thelma Barrow. A graduate of Ribault High School, she went on to become a certified radiology technician. Later, Angie would become the president of the Claxton family custom home business, where her leadership and dedication earned her respect throughout Clay County and beyond. As a past president of the Clay County Builders Association, she was a respected and influential female business owner in Jacksonville, known and admired by many for her integrity and hard work.
Angie’s greatest joy and passion in life was her family. She was a devoted mother to her children, Judson Cutts (Amy), Tracey Wehr (Jonathan), and Laura Lawson (Matt), and a beloved “Mema” to her nine grandchildren. Her grandchildren adored her, and her home was more than just a house—it was their home, filled with love, laughter, and warm memories.
Angie was also a cherished sister to Sandy Knowles (Jerry) and Steve Claxton (Chris), and the dearest lifelong friend of Michele Haskell (Joby). She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion, touching countless lives through her kindness and unwavering devotion to those she cared about.
Though she has left this world, Angie’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of life for Angela will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Crossroad Church, 10005 Gate Parkway N, Jacksonville, FL 32246.
