

Anita Jayne Foster, 83, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Thursday morning, October 24, 2013, following a very brief and unexpected illness. A memorial service honoring her life will be held at Englewood Christian Church 4316 Barnes Road, on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at 2 pm with Pastor Ken Gemeinhart officiating. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery, following a private family service, on Monday, October 28, 2013. Anita was born in Chauncey, Ohio on October 21, 1930. She attended Ashland High School in Kentucky before the family moved to Florida. She was a life long member of Englewood Christian Church where she was a member of the choir, ladies circle and also taught Sunday School. She enjoyed needle pointing, knitting and quilting. She also loved to play the piano and sing. Anita was much loved by her family, extended family and close friends who will miss her sweet smile, happy laughter and tender heart. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Alma Foster and dear brother, Eugene Foster. Anita was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. She is survived by her sons James Noel Boorde (Patricia) and David Andrew Boorde (Sharron), her daughter Shannon Kaye Strickland (Michael), and her two grandchildren, Alexis Nicole Boorde and Andrew Joseph Boorde. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Northeast Florida Community Hospice, www.communityhospice.com. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Acosta - Rua Center for Caring at 5450 Ramona Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, for their compassion and support in her final days.
