

Ann Whitehurst McGehee was born on December 26, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama and passed away at the age of 88 on December 4, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. She moved to Birmingham with her parents, Willis Quay and Annie Lynn Whitehurst, and lived there until entering college at the University of Alabama. A magna cum laude graduate, Ann was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and majored in Home Economics. She met Frank during their sophomore year and were married in 1948. After college, Ann and Frank moved to Frank s hometown, Jacksonville, Florida to start their family and life-long career in the paper business. Ann dedicated herself to raising their three children and supporting Frank as he and his brother Tom founded Mac Paper Company in 1965. Ann and Frank were charter members of the San Jose Church of Christ where they worshipped and served their church family for over 60 years. They were honored and privileged to support missionaries and ministries throughout the world. Ann and Frank were longtime members of San Jose Country Club.
Ann is predeceased by her parents, sister Jane Shaffer, and husband Frank of 58 years. She is survived by her sister, Lynne Ferguson; children, Sutton (Debbie), David (Kathryn), and Ann Riley; her 7 grandchildren, Amanda Jackson (Matt), Ray O Steen (Michael), Jenny Claggett (Ty), Scott Riley (Heather), Graham Riley (Whitney), Maureen Regas (Lloyd) David McGehee Jr.; along with 15 great-grandchildren.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Anns longtime and loving caregivers, Nancy, Judy, Patty, and Janet. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7 from 5-7pm at Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd. On Friday, December 8, a private graveside service will be followed by an 11:00am memorial service at San Jose Church of Christ, 6233 San Jose Blvd., 32207. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to San Jose Church of Christ or Wolfson Childrens Hospital, 841 Prudential Dr., Suite 1300, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
