

Anna Borawski, 84, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on July 19, 2010 at Community Hospice, the Hadlow Center. She was born in Moosic, PA, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kievak) Dombroski. After raising her five children in East Hartford, CT, Anna and her husband, George, built a lovely home in Westerly, RI. Together they did most of the construction themselves. Upon retirement, they joined the U.S. Peace Corps and served in the Solomon Islands. Anna taught English and life skills to the young villagers. Upon completion of their duties, Anna and George returned to the United States to enjoy their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband George, her brother Stanley and sister Julie Hlavac, both of Wilkes-Barre, PA; brother Joseph of Kensington, CT; and brother Frank of Newington, CT. Surviving are her five children: Gerald of Fort Lauderdale, Marion Zeiner (husband Robert), Lawrence, George (wife Rosemary) and Marlene, all of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edward of Plainville, CT, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Blanding Boulevard, Jacksonville. Interment will be at a later date in the family resting place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida.
