Anne L. Connolly passed away surrounded by her children on April 30, 2017 at the age of 84. A loving and compassionate mother, she will be dearly missed by her 5 children (John, Patsy, Peggy, Chris, and Michael), their spouses, and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Jack.
Anne was born in New Orleans on January 1, 1933. As the daughter of an Army officer, her childhood was shaped by many family moves around the country, before graduating from Mount Holyoke College. In 1958, Anne and Jack were married in Seattle and moved to Jacksonville that same year. Anne was committed to engaging and giving back to her community; she dedicated her time and leadership to many Jacksonville organizations including Girl Scouts, St. Vincent’s Foundation, Cancer Society, and the Salvation Army. She was an active member of the San Jose and St. Michael’s Catholic parishes, and an active supporter of the local arts. Anne loved to travel with Jack and bringing her family together. She will be fondly remembered for her thoughtful civic engagement, dedication to family, and her gift of connecting with everyone she met.
