

Marianne Koo-Kousman, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 4th, 2021 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, due to the growth of acute and aggressive cancer cells in her body. Born on March 26, 1946 in the Netherlands, Marianne dedicated her entire professional career treating children with physical handicaps, as a resident Physical Therapist in a specialized school for physically impaired children in Amsterdam. In 2006, she followed her husband John to Jacksonville, Florida to enjoy their retirement lives. John and Marianne celebrated the 40th anniversary of their marriage and 50th anniversary of togetherness on October 10, 2021 surrounded by many of their friends.
Marianne was a big-hearted person, who loved everyone she came to know and was loved by all her friends and neighbors. She especially enjoyed playing tennis acquiring many like-minded friends in the Netherlands and in Jacksonville, and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her beloved husband John Koo, step-daughter Janet Boris, step-son Jack Koo, son Lennart Koo, daughter Annette Arends-Koo, son-in-law Peter Boris, daughter-in-law Anne Koo, son-in-law Jurriaan Arends, grandchildren Nadine Koo, Zach Koo, Theo Boris, Bo Arends and Yuna Arends, as well as many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL on Friday, July 16th, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am, with a Celebration of Life service at 11:00am and reception immediately following the service from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.
