Marianne was my kind dear Aunt and lived in Amsterdam as I was in Borculo when I was young. It is hard to believe she is not around anymore.  To me she was always the positive, enthusiastic, energetic, proud and full of humor personality. I will always remember the pleasant and funny times staying in Amsterdam together with John, Marianne, Lennart and Annette. When I studied, I also had a lovely time staying at Marianne’s house where she often advised me to drink her fresh made orange juice in order to stay healthy. There is so much more to tell, she is always in my thoughts, I will miss her very much. Condolences to John and the

I first met Marianne playing tennis at Deercreek but it wasn't long before we realized how much more we had in common. We were both ex pats, we loved books, shared similar political views and had same-age grandchildren. So we became good friends and I will always remember sipping super-strong cups of coffee in Marianne's kitchen whilst we tried to put the world to rights.
Marianne was a caring and generous person but also full of life and lots of fun. I couldn't have wished for a better friend.
Marianne, you will always have a place in my heart.

We had the great pleasure of getting to know Marianne when she and John moved to Deercreek in Jacksonville shortly after we did some 16 years ago.  We bonded with them and shared some wonderful good times.  Marianne was a great friend who with her European roots like my wife, Mervi, shared what was on her mind in a direct but always loving way.  Although our pain at her loss cannot begin to approach that of John and the immediate family, we deeply feel her loss and offer our deepest sympathy to John and family.  As I write I can hear her voice and joyful laugh in my head.  She will be missed.  Tom and Mervi Hamby

When I think of Marianne, I will always remember her love for family and friends.  I will remember her artistic talent displayed in the beautiful cards she made for us.  I will remember the gracious hostess she was entertaining with such ease.  I will remember our mahjong nights where we had some good laughs.  I will remember her concern and kindness shown to friends going through tough times.  Most of all I will remember her smile.

Marianne was een fantastische vriendin. Heel gastvrij en zorgzaam voor ieder in haar omgeving. Zij creëerde een fijne sfeer en je was altijd welkom bij haar thuis. 
Haar lach en haar vrolijkheid. Wij koesteren de fijne herinneringen die wij hebben aan onze gezamenlijke vakanties. De vele tennispartijen die ik met haar heb gespeeld. De gezellige etentjes en de logeerpartijen bij haar in Florida.

Marianne and I were born 6 weeks apart , 75 years ago, in Borculo Holland. Then Walter met her 53 years ago when she came to Canada to  be my “ maid of honor” at our wedding . Since then we have visited back and forth, in Holland, in England , in Connecticut, and lastly in Florida , where we both moved to 10+ years ago. We will miss the visits and all the talks and reviewing the memories we shared.  Peace and comfort to her family.

Our friendship started on tennis courts and grew beyond tennis. Marianne taught us to play mah jong and had many fun evenings playing the game.  We had many great dinners  with friends and families.  I will miss her signature dish nasi goreng! We shared many interest including travel, books , kids, tennis and cultural exchange.s. Len and I will miss her greatly. Rest In Peace dear friend.

Marianne was such a wonderful, caring person.  She was always interested in others and what was happening in everyone’s lives.  I can’t think of Marianne without thinking of her unique serve in tennis, and seeing her ride her bike to the tennis courts.  She will forever be in our hearts, but will be missed greatly. Marianne was a dear sweet lady who was so kind and generous to all.  I thought of Marianne as my "Florida Mom" as she had the exact same birthday as my real mother and was just as special to me.  It warms my heart to know they are meeting now.  I will think of her always and will miss her dearly.  My deepest condolences to John and her family.
