He served in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Ordanceman Second Class during World War II and later during the Korean Conflict. He actively engaged in Freemasonry, the Order of the York Rite, the Order of the Scottish Rite, and as a member of the Morocco Temple. He helped establish a High Twelve Chapter. He was also a member of Moultrie Baptist Church in St. Augustine. He retired from the State of Florida Department of Revenue.
He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Emily Tucker, of Charleston, South Carolina. His surviving family includes his wife, Mrs. Dorinda Tucker, of St. Augustine, Florida; sister, Annie Tucker, of Jacksonville, Florida; sons, Randolph Tucker, of Medart, Florida, Douglas Tucker and wife Cindy, of Peachtree City, Georgia, and Robert Tucker, of Jacksonville, Florida. His grandchildren include Gabriel Tucker, of Boulder Creek, California, Melissa Burroughs, of San Jose, California, Emily McKay, of Peachtree City, Georgia, and Katherine Tucker, of Peachtree City, Georgia. In addition, he survived by four great-grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, March 31 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, April 1 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
