Arkad Tadros, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27th 2020, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 9th, 1930 in Lydda, Palestine to Simon and Marette Saba. She was a sister to eight siblings; Elias, Georgette (deceased), Adib, Costandi (deceased), George, Raji (deceased), Jeanette, and Johnny (deceased). She was married to Edmond Tadros (deceased) and mother to eight children born between 1950 and 1966; Afifeh (deceased), Sophie, Samira, Nadia (deceased), John, Tina, Nouha and Lillian.
Arkad was a deeply loved and treasured wife, mother, and grandmother. She had an endless devotion to her family and spent her days proudly as a homemaker, caring tirelessly for the well-being and happiness of her children and grandchildren. Arkad shared her tremendous love of her family through her cooking and baking. The only passions she possessed more than her family was that of food, house plants, and a good bargain. Watching Arabic cooking shows and tending to her houseplants were her joy. Her downtime was spent reading through all of the grocery store ads and cutting out various coupons for herself and her family. She was also naturally skilled at needlepoint with many of her works hanging beautifully in her children’s homes. Known for her wisdom and brutal honesty, she was as sharp and fierce as ever until her last breath. She was the true heart and soul of our family and will be sorely missed. Her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family left behind and the recipes we’ve all learned to perfect from our beloved Arkad.
She is survived by her siblings Elias Saba (Buffalo, NY), Adib Saba (Haifa, Palestine), George Saba (Lydda, Palestine), and Jeanette Saba (Syracuse, NY).
She is also survived by her children Sophie and Youssef Dakwar (Niagara Falls, NY), Samira and Elia JahJah (Jacksonville, FL), John and Simona Tadros (Ithaca, NY), Tina and John Tadros (Jacksonville, FL), Nouha and Milton Wallin (Eagle River, AK), and Lillian Tadros (Jacksonville, FL). She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren Edmond, Chris, Steven, Elias, Caprice, Anthony, Tawfik, Laila, Peter, Amin, Paul, James, Georgette, Katherine, and Spencer as well as seven great grandchildren.
