

Arlena Beth McGuire Vincent, age 86, of Jacksonville, passed away May 25, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Neosho, Missouri to James Arlie and Nola Pearl McGuire, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. During high school, Arlena managed the drug store soda fountain in Neosho, Missouri where she met her future husband, Claude Albert Vincent. After marrying Claude on May 17, 1947, Arlena settled into her new life as a homemaker, later becoming a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of San Jose Baptist Church for many years.
Arlena’s husband, Claude, preceded her in death on March 20, 2010. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah S. Bowser and Rebecca V. Dickson (Bary); sister, Caroline S. Burtcher; grandchildren, Randal L. Bryan (Christie), Elizabeth A. Dickson, Daniel J. Bowser, and Jennifer L. Dickson; great-grandsons, Darien Cole (10 years) and Beylan Greye (10 months); niece, Kelli Burroughs; nephews, Timothy Burtcher and Stephen Burtcher (Diane), and many other family members and friends.
Family will receive friends from 6-8:00PM on Thursday, May 28 at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel with Pastor Terry Gore officiating. Burial in Oaklawn Cemetery will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
