Arnold was very proud of his service in the Navy during WWII. He was part of the first unit trained by the Navy as Frogmen, todays Navy Seals. He served in the Pacific and was on Okinawa.
Arnold was passionate about helping people and animals. He was an active member of the Jacksonville Humane Society and a Docent at the Van Saun Zoo in New Jersey. Arnold was a volunteer at Brookdale Mandarin where he lived and at River Garden Hebrew Home. He loved attending services and volunteering at Congregation Ahavath Chesed.
Arnold was predeceased by his wife, Sue and his grandson, Scott Latshaw. Arnold is survived by his daughters, Marcia Luettchau and Laura Latshaw, his sisters, Donna Suneja and Dianne Barggen, his grandchildren, Allison Latshaw, Jonathan Luettchau, Sara and Kyle Kulas, and his great-grandchildren, Scottie and Scarlett Latshaw. We wish to thank the staff at Brookdale-Mandarin for their patience and care they gave to my father and Barbie Young from the Caring Committee at Congregation Ahavath Chesed who spent time calling him faithfully.
Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home is serving the family. A service will be held in his honor on Thursday, March 4, 2020 beginning at 10am at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
