

Arthur Grandon Tyler Jr. 90, of Jacksonville, Florida left this life for his heavenly home on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Born in Vermontville, Michigan, he was the son of the late Arthur Grandon Tyler and Gertrude Granger Tyler. Art served in the United States Navy 1948-1951 as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic and had a rewarding career with the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, retiring in 1977 as a Captain. Mr. Tyler also was a successful businessman. Beginning in 1976, Tyler Portable Buildings, located at 8601 Lem Turner Rd, on the city's northside was a small business mainstay for over three decades.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three older sisters, one brother; his loving wife of 52 years, Eva Virginia Tyler; precious granddaughter Mallory Villarreal; and special friend, JoAn Cunningham. Art received Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior on May 21, 1995 and was a committed member of Cedar Bay Baptist Church. He enjoyed golf, loved the Florida Gators; especially football, baseball and women's softball and immersed himself in the Word of God (Bible).
Mr. Tyler is survived by his three sons, Bobby Tyler (Marsha); Bill Tyler (Robin); and Ron Tyler (Lora); and one daughter, Julie Tretick (Mike); grandchildren, Brandi Heath (Daniel); Mike Tyler (Kacie); Rachel Birri (Kevin); Ashley Revels (Joshua); Stephanie VanSickle (Ryan); Steven Tyler (Courtney); Megan Sterner (Brynn) and Bailey Villarreal; and 18 great grandchildren.
The viewing is scheduled for Thursday evening, March 25 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cedar Bay Baptist Church, 11553 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL The memorial service will be held on Friday morning, March 26 @ 10:00 AM, also at Cedar Bay Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Tyler officiating.
