Athena Marie Yelvington, born August 1, 1993, of Jacksonville Florida passed away on May 3rd, 2013. She left us after courageously fighting a long battle with leukemia. She is survived by her mother Catherine Ann, her father John Jeffrey, her sister Arianna Michelle, and her grandparents Valerie Dietch, Irene Alexander, and Robert Alexander. Athena graduated from Englewood High School. She was a beautiful soul who was passionate about art and music. Athena had a nurturing and caring spirit; she had a soft spot for animals, as evidenced by the many that she rescued and nursed back to health. She valued family and close friends and knew these as the things that made her life rich. The many lives that she touched while she was here with us will live on as her legacy, and we will miss her more than words can express. Memorial Celebration will be held at Crossroads Methodist Church, Jacksonville Florida, on Wednesday, May 8th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the service begining at 5PM.
