July 20, 1949 – May 2, 2026
Barbara Carol Tatlas passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Born on July 20, 1949, Barbara grew up in Mobile, Alabama but spent most of her life in Florida, where she built a beautiful life centered around family, compassion, and God.
Barbara was the definition of gentle. She was sweet, loving, and giving to everyone she met, always ready to help anyone in need without hesitation. She carried herself with grace and patience, never harsh or unkind. Those who knew her will remember her soft heart, calming presence, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Her faith was one of the most important parts of her life. A devoted Baptist, Barbara faithfully attended church every Sunday whenever she was able. If she couldn’t be there in person, she never missed a service, watching the live broadcast from her iPad at home. Her relationship with God guided the way she lived her life and the way she treated others — with kindness, humility, and love.
Barbara also had a spirited side that made her unforgettable. She loved riding motorcycles and proudly embraced life as a biker alongside her husband, George Tatlas. Together, they were members of the Combat Veterans Association, where they formed lasting friendships and shared countless memories on the road.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Helton; her father, Joseph Keevan; her bonus dads, Max Johnson and Earl Helton; and her sisters, Debbie Johnson and Pam Coe.
Barbara is survived by her husband, George Tatlas; her sister, Maxine Wilkins; her children, Christina McGuire, Jennifer Cribbs, and Gus Tatlas; her son-in-law, Kevin Cribbs; her grandchildren, Cameron Mollohan, Kayla Devens, Shelby Vernon, Chase Clement, George & Alan Tatlas, and Kyler & Callie Cribbs; her grandsons-in-law, Ryan Devens and Austin Vernon; and her eleven great-grandchildren: Levi, Liam, Jace, Lucas, Theodore, Samuel, Rayf, Xander, Dakota, Ryleigh, and Kinsley.
She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and countless people whose lives were made better simply by knowing her.
Barbara’s legacy is one of faith, gentleness, generosity, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, the kindness she showed and the memories she created will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
