

June Hayes Buck, affectionately known to many as “Ma Buck,” passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, May 22, 2026. Born on September 15, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida, June lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for those around her.
A proud Jacksonville native, June graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1945. She went on to work for many years with CSX, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication.
June was beloved by family, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a warm heart, a gentle spirit, and a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Her home was the place where everyone in the neighborhood gathered, whether for conversation, laughter, a meal, bonfires out back, or simply to feel at home. To so many, her door was always open, and her presence brought comfort, joy, and a sense of family.
She touched countless lives through her generosity, compassion, and genuine care for others, and she will be remembered for the love she freely gave to everyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Kingsley “Buddy” Buck.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Tom Buck (Sue), Jimmy Buck (Lori), and Susan Koufakis (Lou); her four beloved grandchildren, Traci Bragg-Byrd (Scott), Ryan Buck (Kristy), Brad Buck, and Todd Buck (Emilie); 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy throughout her life.
The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant something beautiful in her memory, as a living reminder of the kindness and love she shared so freely throughout her life.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
