Becky Benson

Myrtis Rebecca “Becky” Malone Benson, 82, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by her family. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and in her earlier years worked in a day care center. Becky loved the mountains and enjoyed spending time there in her mountain home. She and her husband, David, also enjoyed ministering to nursing homes in the Jacksonville area. A devout Christian, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, David Benson; sons, Mike Malone (Elena), Steve Malone (Debi); daughter, Patty Reyes; grandchildren, Stefani Malone, Allan Malone (Suzanna), Brad Reyes (Lindsey), Bryan Reyes (Kristen), Rachel Malone and Matthew Malone; great-grandsons Davis and Bennett Malone. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 6 – 8 PM in the chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Boulevard Jax., FL 32207. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, 124 West Ashley Street Jacksonville, FL 32202. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Becky’s honor to First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
