She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Loren Robert “Bob” Cole, her
mother Lucy Grow Case, and father Harry Durham Aldridge.
She was a lifelong resident of Lexington Kentucky before moving to Tallahassee in 1980 where
Bob took a position with Killearn Properties.
She graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington with honors and attended the
University of Kentucky. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she served in
multiple positions.
During her years in Tallahassee, she was a founding member of Celebration Baptist Church and
was a volunteer counselor in the Bill Glass Prison Ministry, Champions for Life.
One of her favorite things was being part of the local Hallmark club, Tally Town Collectors Club.
It brought her joy and happiness being able to share one of her favorite interests with others
who she enjoyed being with.
Several years after Bob died, she acquired two kittens, siblings, who she always said, “saved
her life.” She loved them so much and they loved her!
Betty’s life was defined by her Faith, family, and friends.
From her cherished lifelong friend Chris, “she was always so classy dressed in her black and
white outfits and of course her straw hat and her beautiful blonde hair, she never missed a beat!
And always made a lasting impression. It was a gift to be counted on her friends list!”
She is survived by her son, Robert Aldridge Cole and daughter in law Diana Tobin Cole of
Jacksonville, Florida.
Memorial contributions can be made to Big Bend Hospice and Bradfordville First Baptist
Church, both in Tallahassee, Florida.
Betty would want to be remembered by her devotion and dedication to her family and church.
