

She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and came to Jacksonville, Florida as a young child where she remained for the rest of her life. She lived a long and productive life and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Betty worked many years for A&P and Publix Supermarket stores until her retirement. Betty was a devoted member of more than 40 years to Friendship Advent Christian Church and until her recent illness, joined the ladies of the church and Harris every Tuesday for Prayer Group. The most important things in her life were her God, her family, her church and her country.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, James Sr. and Annie Pylant, her 6 siblings James Jr., Robert, Ellis, Marion, Eleanor and Margie. Her husband Laurie Edenfield, her daughter Hope Bissell, her granddaughter Bonnie Jean, her grandson Terry Jr. and her great-granddaughter Jadazia.
Betty is survived by her son Ross (Bonnie,) her daughter April (Terry), 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great- great- grandchildren and one on the way, many nieces and nephews and her beloved church family.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 10:30 am at the church she loved so much, Frienship Advent Christian Church, 1410 Tutter St. Jacksonville, Florida 32211. Officiating, Pastor Virgil “Butch” Jerrell. Internment will immediately follow the service at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
