Betty Jean "Nootsie" Browning

BROWNING - Betty Jean “Nootsie” Browning, 74, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008. Mrs. Browning was a long time member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 5, with Dr. Herb Reavis, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Browning was also Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Daughters of the Nile and co founder of Browning Heating & Air Conditioning for 53 years. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Barney Harold Browning, Jr.; 3 daughters: Kathy L. (John Hunt) Browning, Melody A. Thomas and Penny D. (Tim) Karst; 1 son, Barney H. “Rick” ( Hydia) Browning, III; 7 grandchildren: Amanda, Dale, Holly, Nicholas, Kendall, Timothy & Taylor; 5 great grandchildren: Aaron, Avery, Arrington, Matthew & Ashton; her 95 year old lifelong friend and sister in heart, Lois Morgan; 2 nieces, Judy & Sandy; and many other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, September 4, at North Jacksonville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Mrs. Browning’s memory to the North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Building Fund, 8531 N. Main St., Jacksonville, FL 32218.
