

Passed away in Jacksonville, Fla. on March 12, 2026. She was born on March 3,1932 to Carrie King Jones and William Spade Jones of Forsyth County, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son William Gregg Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla. Her sister Anne Balsinger, sister Billie Erickson, husband Eric, and son Eric Jr. Brother Wallace Jones and wife Grace, their daughter Linda Jones Swain.
She is survived by her daughter Karen (Jack) Gorman, son Chuck (Carol) Johnson, two grandsons Adam, Matthew (Lizzie) and a great-granddaughter Ava, sister Betty Strader, and many other loving family members and friends.
Beverly loved music and dance and was a ballroom dance instructor at Dorminy Studios in Winston-Salem, N.C., and a voice student at Salem College. After moving to Florida in the 60’s, she enjoyed her experience as a Cub Scout Den Mother at St. Paul’s Methodist Church where the family were members. She worked at George Washington Life Insurance Company for twenty years, then in retail for 19 years. She always cherished the friends she met along the way. She volunteered her time helping children in a school who had physical disabilities and special needs. An artist who loved painting landscapes, seascapes, birds, and studying new methods.
