You always told me you were so proud of me. You called me your little princess. I was the daughter you never got. If you look closely, you can see him in the back taking a photo of me. Been thinking about you, Blake.   You were the coolest, toughest kid I knew. Even though I’m older by a couple of months, I always looked up to you. Rest In Peace, my friend. 

When I first went to work with Blake at Big Bike I wasn’t really sure about this hyperactive sales guy In the front office, especially after my first memory was him testing out his green dot laser site on my chest from across the building! I remember after a few days into the job I was going to look at bikes for my boy, and Blake quickly grabbed his keys and said “let’s go”. I don’t remember the store we went to but when we got their I remember him saying “pick whichever one you’ll think he’ll like and I’m buying it”, I was stunned! My son loved that bike! 
I’m so sorry to hear he passed away, I know it’s heart breaking for his family.  For the short time I knew him he made a big impression on me, so I know he will be missed dearly! God knows he had a heart of gold, and was a blessing to those who knew him.  He was truly a man who would give you the shirt off his back!

Spatial Concepts has worked with Blake & Todd on many projects together.  Blake was Todd's right-hand man and he will be sorely missed -- he was always quick to respond to any questions and always kept us up-to-date on the status of our projects.  Blake was a very happy soul and it showed whenever we met with him -- words cannot express our deepest sympathies for a man gone too soon and the sadness left behind for his family and friends. I have known  Stephanie basically my whole life & met Blake around middle/high school.  I had the privilege of being in their wedding & honestly can’t remember anything but love &  laughter! I will always cherish the friendship we all had. Blake had the biggest heart ,  contiguous smile & personality! I am thankful for all the memories I have knowing Blake  as we all grew up! 

 I had the privilege along with my wife to serve as Blake and Stephanie's pastor for approximately 5 years. Once you meet Blake, you will never forget him.  He is the character of characters, extremely comical.  I am reminded on one occasion in which he and I went to lunch.(my treat)......I asked him where would you like to go?(Olive Garden, Outback, etc.) Of all places, he wanted to go to Zaxby's. My response was "REALLY BLAKE?" He patted his stomach and said, "How do you think I got THIS?!!!!" Preachers aren't the only ones who eat chicken!  

I had an amazing day in March 2017 when I was contacted by Stephanie because her family was interested in a dog that I was fostering.  They were interested in adopting my foster dog, Honey Bunch, and wanted to meet her.  I went to their house and met Stephanie, Blake and Chandler.  I immediately feel in love with this family.  Of course I adopted Honey to them. I felt so blessed to know this family. In October of 2017 I just so happened to be fostering another baby pup that Blake just fell in love with.  She was just 3 weeks old then but Blake just loved her and knew that she had to be his.  Stephanie kept in touch with me constantly while the little runt grew and until she was ready to be adopted. This as we knew was really all for Blake. For some reason his grown man had a love and attachment to this little runt of a pup and just had to have her.  Of course when she was old enough to be adopted the Rutland family became her new forever family.

I share the above to explain how very blessed and honored I am that I met the Rutland family.  Blake, Stephanie and Chandler reached out to foster dogs that they wanted to adopt and give a loving and wonderful forever home to.  I have to say I am not sure I have met another man ever that outwardly showed such a loving heart to animals.  

I can honestly say in the few years that I have known Blake, Stephanie and Chandler I have never met a more caring, loving, wonderful family.  Blake always showed his love for Stephanie and Chandler and the fur babies.  Blake always expressed, in every word he spoke, how very proud he was of Chandler and how much he loved his family.  

Even in the short time that I have known Blake he will always be a part of my heart.   I love Stephanie and Chandler and know that they will find the strength and love that they need. Prayers to all family and friends.  Blake you will be truly missed but we know you will always be looking over your loved ones.

I’ve known Blake since middle school, though I’m a grade above him. (85-87) . We both went to Westover High School as well. He was definitely unique. Probably the best dressed guy I’ve ever known. Geez he was meticulous as anyone I had ever known about clothes. He went camping with us once off Trowbridge in Albany. Hardly the camping type but oddly he made it through the morning where we ate fire roasted duck, thanks to my 70 yard shot that Blake thought I had no chance. Blake was even brave enough to get in our boxing ring. I was the “J” in WAJ BOXING FEDERATION. He actually did surprisingly well. Until… he realized he could get hit too. About halfway through round 2 or 3 he decided he’d just exit the ring and leave his boxing career in it. Lol!!! It was so Blake. Incredible guy and a pleasure to have called a friend. 

I went to school with Blake at Westover High school…Class of 92! and even though we didn’t hang out I knew who he was and of course I knew Stephanie. Fast forward many years (18 to be exact) and I end up working with her stepmom. She always kept me up to date how Stephanie and Blake were doing and how proud she was of her grandson. 

Stephanie, please know you and Chandler and all your family are in my thoughts and prayers and I’m so very sorry for your loss.

I met Blake in elementary school and out of all the kids... he was one that I remember so fondly! He was so kind and friendly... always knew how to make everyone laugh! I literally talked about him to my husband last week, thinking " I wonder what he's up too?" And to hear the news has broken my heart but I still feel the kindness and sweetness that he shared with so many. My condolences to the family... I'm praying their strength in the Lord.

You always knew when Blake entered a room.  He was a force of  Light  and Energy.  His JOY  would radiate the room.  Blake always had the best stories!!! Every day stories, off the wall stories, crazy random stories, stories that would have your laughing until your side hurt!  Oh those stories.... we will definitely miss his stories! The LAUGHTER he would bring.  You always knew It was going to be  a good day when Blake was around.  If you were having a bad day & Blake called his laughter & stories would change your day just like that.  He always brightened Clay's day.   Blake wasn't just funny  he was a very fashionable, stylish guy; always dressed impeccable.  He shared his love of fashion with Chandler.   Chandler has grown into Blake's  little sharp dressed twin.  Chandler has developed a lot of Blake's great personality.  I know he will live on in Chandler and Chandler will be the new force of light and energy that enters the room providing everyone in it with immense happiness.  I know we will all miss Blake so much but there is no doubt in my mind Blake will bring great Laughter to all the angels in heaven!!!   We love you Stephanie & Chandler

I met Blake and Stephanie at Westover and they were the cutest couple to me. Blake's smile and laugh could brighten ones day, and Stephanie was one of the sweetest people to know. Blake always made sure he left an imprint with everyone. He would come to Chick-fil-A and make sure he spoke(chewing that gum and holding that toothpick in his mouth). Gone too soon and truly will be missed. Sending prayers and love to Stephanie and the family! May God continue to strengthen you all🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Cuz would always put a smile on your face! He really knew how to light up a room and you always left him with a belly ache from laughing so hard. He was a one of a kind and he will truly be missed. Love yall so much! 

Blake was always a kind guy and had a great smile.  I always remembered that he would wear the coolest outfits and had awesome hair.  We would be in the cafeteria and his laugh would cut through the entire room no matter how loud it was.  I truly will miss my Classmate.

Sweet Blake...he really was all the things people have said he was!! Kind, funny, the life of the party, friends with EVERYONE!! I haven't seen him since highschool, but I know if I had he would have given me the biggest hug when we met again!! Such a handsome young man, and he still was!! Prayers to Stephanie and Chandler and his entire family. I know the world had lost a great person, but heaven has gained an incredible angel!! 

I met Blake at Westover High School when I was in the tenth grade. I was new to the school and he made me feel welcome. Fast forward   about five years and Stephanie and I ran into him in the parking lot of the apartments where they both lived at the time.  Blake and Stephanie instantly reconnected. Since then, he has been my big brother always looking out for me (whether I wanted him to or not). We would banter back and forth during football season. He never complained about all the times I was the third wheel on their dates. He as a friend to my husband and an uncle to my daughter. The stars will shine a little brighter now  as Heaven has  gained  another angel. 

I went to school with Blake at McIntosh for 6th grade.  Brandy, my self, Bubba Bridges, Bobby Tipler and many more of us would hang out in basket ball court yard before school and after school.   I have so many great memories of Blake, he certainly was always a full of jokes and always had a smile on his face. During class most of the boys would play this game called "pencil brake".  Yes it sound ridiculous but it was almost like competing for the Olympics.  It was hilarious to watch these boys play this game.  Blake will be missed by so many.  He alwaya turned a dull moment into happy one.  I pray for strength, peace and guidance through this difficult time.  My condolences to his precious family and friends.  

I met Blake 30+ years ago in 6th grade at McIntosh School.  My fondest memory from when we met, it was so hot that year.  McIntosh did not have AC.  There were huge fans in the rooms.  I remember all the teachers loved Blake, he got away with everything.  One of the fans in our room broke and Blake convinced the teacher he could fix it and if he did, she would let him use it as his personal fan since they brought a new one for the front of the class.  Well, Blake was our hero…. with a little tape, some paper clips it was working, well kinda…. He had to hold the front of fan on with his foot.  Blake, Stephanie, myself and few others were “chilling” in the back of the room!!  
He was never a selfish person, he always included others, especially Stephanie.  He adored her from the very beginning, and we all knew it.  
They have the perfect love story…  

Blake was a friend to everyone; he was the closest some of us had to a brother.  He could make you laugh when you really wanted to cry.  One of Blake’s best traits was that he always lived his life to the fullest and loved to laugh and smile. Whenever any of us were feeling down and needed a friend to lean on he was there. 

I will never forget; Stephanie threw me my “sweet 16” birthday party at her house.  She was the best friend I had back then.  Her and her mom made that day so special for me.  But the life of that “sweet 16th” party was our crazy friend Blake!!!  That boy had everyone dancing and laughing!!  I can still picture him and Stephanie dancing to “Funky Cold Medina” in the kitchen.  
Those are just a few of the memories that I will forever hold close to my heart.

ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ROLLER SKATE?
Roller skating was the bomb!  Who knew Blake was going to roller skate backwards and frontwards speed skate....we took the kids there that afternoon and here comes Blake with his personal skates around his neck.  He was good!!!  


Blake introduced our 1st child to golf.  He even gave Anthony his 1st golf club.  Unfortunately, our t.v. was never the same after it was introduced to the golf club.
We will miss you Blake, but we know we will see you again in Heaven.

Blake will always be the positive guy that can change a room! Very few can do that. Admirable knowledge and wisdom that went along with his humor. So many great memories from the bike shop especially the Saturdays he wore his loafers with no socks and those legs. Blake, I love you Buddy! Til we meet again brother..... 

I met Blake many years ago in a salon I worked in, he was getting his haircut by a coworker, When he would walk in to get his haircut his jokes, laughter and stories captured everyone’s attention. To know Blake was to love him. He always had something sweet to say about his lovely wife and words couldn’t even describe how much he loved her. If you ever wanted to see his face light up ask about Chandler…. The love for his son showed all over his face, he would always boast on what an amazing young man he is and how blessed he was that God chose him to be Chandlers father. He will truly be missed. My prayers are huge for Stephanie and Chandler.  May God bless you and keep you both, and His face shine upon you. 

Blake was not only my best Friend but he was my Brother. We got that question allot when we was together( Are ya'll Brothers?). I met Rutland in August 2005 and we became friends that day as he sold me a motorcycle. We started going to Gator games, hanging out, and laughing. I could always depend on Rutland to put a smile on my face and laughter in the air. Sometimes we would laugh till we cried.  We could always depend on each other no matter what the situation. Chandler and my son Corbin are 3 months apart and have grew up together. He was always Uncle Blake to Corbin and I am Uncle Todd to Chandler. I have so many stories and memories of Blake that I will cherish forever as he holds a special place in my heart and leaves this void in my life to be with his savior. Rutland always told this story about how he came to work at Total Construction Solutions and it was fun. He would ride around in the truck with his best friend, we would laugh, tell jokes, eat lunch, and check on jobs that was being done by sub contractors. Easy stuff. We done this for about 3 weeks. Blake always said that was a trick because he climbs in the truck one morning and next thing we are doing manual labor like demo, digging, building, plumbing, electrical, whatever we had a ticket for we did as a team. But he never backed down even if he did not know what he was doing. Blake was a fast learner and a quick study. He became my right hand man here at TCSI and made my work load easier. He would call me everyday after he left the house and we would plan our day and have our laughs first thing in the morning to get our day started. Rutland, I miss that morning call, our lunches together at Berndt Ends, your hand shake with the chest bump hug that was always your signature when we saw each other or when we was leaving. Dude, I miss you now and will forever. Love you MAN!!!!

I was always in admiration of Blake's welcoming demeanor. I do not remember any time that he did not make me feel welcome and happy to be there, no matter where 'there' was. He was always good for a laugh and a good time. He was always fun to be around!
 
Stephanie and Chandler, I can't even guess how you are feeling but I would like to let you know that Blake will always be with you, in your heart and memories. And because of this, he will help you get through the tuff times.

I always enjoyed my time with Uncle Blake.  I always knew it was gonna be a fun day when he was around.  He would try to make me and my dad race on the beach.  We would dig a hole and play golf on the beach.  He would throw the ball to me and Chandler in the pool all day long.  I got to play golf with him at a young age like 8 and he taught me a lot about golfing with the guys.  He is the funniest person I have ever met.  He always made 4th of July the most fun.  He taught us to use a cigar to light fireworks and run when they lit.  He will always be a part of my life and I am thankful for the time I got with him even though it wasn't long enough.  See you again buddy.  Lots of love #37!!!

We have so many memories of Blake. I first met him when my husband and I began dating 13 years ago. Before ever meeting him, Rob told me about his "golf son" as they enjoyed being on the course together. When I finally met Blake he told Rob, "Wow, you are marrying up...just like me!" The conversations among us were always lively and quick given his wry sense of humor and charming personality. I knew that if we ever needed something Blake was just a phone call away. Many times when Rob was out of town flying (as a pilot) he would send a text to make sure I was okay. When Rob would return, sometimes with a souvenir from a sports personality (Fred Couples, Eli Manning) Blake was so appreciative because he cherished those for his son, Chandler. We have so many memories---his all-button up shirt, slicked back hair, Fred Flinstone costume, making arm gestures and saying, "Absolutely!" telling the story of "In the Mowed", talking in the driveway or in between fence slats, watching him hang Christmas lights with absolute precision, and the list goes on. Rob and I loved being with him, his beautiful wife Stephanie, and Blake's clone-Chandler.  He will be forever loved and missed by us! ~Diana and Rob Glendinning

I remember hanging out with Blake, Stephanie, & Chandler at Saturday Gator game get- togethers at my sisters house!  It seemed every time we saw them he had a new incredible and hilarious story to share.  He did like to make people laugh.  So glad we had the chance to know Blake.  

Blake Rutland was the BEST BIG BROTHER anyone would have been blessed with!! Gods army is one man stronger!!!! He wasn’t just a brother but a best friend!!! Life won’t be the same without him!! 

A highlight each year for me was seeing Blake at our company's Century Club awards trip as Stephanie was a regular recipient of the trip.  Blake had the best sense of humor as anyone that I have ever met.  He always regaled me about my outfits, and I thought of him every single time that I purchased a suit or tie (and I always will).   Blake definitely brightened everyone's day with his upbeat attitude.  On the last night of our last Century Club in Florida I told Blake that I was leaving in the morning at 4:45 for the airport and our hotel said Uber would not be available at that time.  Blake said that he would get up and give me a ride (I think it was around 1/2 hour away).  I told him that I did not want him to have to get up that early, but Blake said that is what friends are for.  I always remembered his kind gesture.  I called a cab, but Blake was definitely willing.  Blake was an amazing individual and a great example for all of us.

Blake was larger than life!  He was kind, compassionate and a bit obnoxious when it came to the Gators!   I remember the time my friend, Barry, and I stayed with he and Stephanie while attending the Florida/Georgia game around 2007 or so…you can guess who I supported. 😊  This was the first time I met Blake.  I felt like I knew him as Steph and I spoke frequently and I often heard of his latest   escapade. We were instant friends, I’m sure many of you share that experience as well.  We rode to the game together in their car…when we returned, we found my car completely decked out in blue and orange…balloons, streamers, the works.  He had paid a neighbor boy $50 to do this! 
Blake loved the Gators, but he adored his family.  Stephanie, what a blessing and privilege to share 36 years with him…your bestie since 12.  Chandler, you ARE his pride and joy!  He beamed when he spoke of you.
I am so thankful to have been able to share a Braves game with y’all (a team we both supported!) in the summer of 2019.
Blake, your memory and legacy will live on in those who were blessed to know you.  You made the world a better place.  I am so thankful that we say “see you later” as believers.  I bet you’ve already pulled out the blue and orange streamers on the streets of Gold.  I love you Blake, Stephanie and Chandler!  

May loving memories comfort the Rutland family and friends during this very difficult time.  It was a pleasure working with Blake. Frequently our phone calls would contain an adventure story or two from Blake.  He was a terrific guy, funny, super helpful and will be greatly missed.

Heartbroken. So full of life. Blake was my golf buddy for many years, such great memories. Very few people can make me laugh, but Blake sure could. Always smiling. He sure did love his wife and son. One of the really good guys and I will miss him dearly. Godspeed buddy; save me a spot in the heavenly foursome.

I had the pleasure of meeting Blake sometime ago through his work and what a joy!   He talked about his precious family often and love them dearly,  He was full of life and enjoyed being around people.  

He is known as a best friend to many.   I know Blake will be tremendously missed by us all.  My prayers for his family and especially his  wife, Stephanie and his son, Chandler.  He was so proud of you!   I am so sorry for your loss but know he is now with the Lord but forever in your hearts.

Uncle blake held me when I was only a few hours old and from that second never failed to put a smile on my face. He always new how to make me laugh, support me, and give really great hugs.
 He would play golf every week at the golf club that my dad did with my dad. I would sell Uncle Blake lemonade on the 6th hole and he would would always tip really well! Better then the tips were the joys he brought me through the years, by coming to my sporting events when I was 4 all the way through my graduation party this past month. 
At Chandlers last basketball game Uncle Blake expressed his excitement in visiting me in college and I am so sad that those dreams cannot come true. Even better than him physically being there I know he will always be watching over me, everyone he loves, and the Florida Gators! 
To Uncle Blake, please say hi to all of my dogs, friends, family, and god. If you do those things I promise to take care of Aunt Stephinie and Chandler. I’ll teach him how to talk to girls the way you would’ve expected him to; holding the door for her, calling her ma’am, and tucking in his chair on dates. One day I pray for him to have a love story like you and Aunt Stephy. Until I meet you again Uncle Blake, I love you and I will live every day to the fullest just like you showed me to. Please put in a good word for me in heaven, hell knows I need it :)

I'm not sure where to begin we have gone through so much together over the last 25 years. Blake and I have shared so much during that time. But what comes top of mind are our many times on the golf course, Gator football games, the birth of his Son, coaching basketball with him and working through some of our own challenges together. He was so proud of Chandler, and his Son's own love for sports. Blake loved his family, worked hard and would give you the shirt off his back if you were in need.  He is the brother I never had and I will miss him.

I have known Blake for 25 years.  He was Charlie's best friend and my buddy.  When I think of Blake, I think of his big smile and his big heart.  He always made me laugh, and he always came to the rescue if I needed anything.
Blake was full of life and he lit up a room when he entered it.  I will miss his sense of humor and his kindness.  Rest in peace sweet Blake.

Mr. Blake was always like my second father. He always looked out for me and made me laugh. My family along with the Rutland's always went to Disney together.  There was one time I went alone with the Rutland's and the car ride was the most fun i have ever had. He always wore his shirt buttoned to the top, that was his signature look. They came over a lot and my dad and him were best friends. He was fun to watch football games with too. We'll miss his humor and amazing personality. 

I loved this boy and man since he was born.  He was as close to a brother to me, even though he was my 1st cousin.  I always loved to see his name pop on my phone.  I would answer what's up CUZ! because I knew I was gonna laugh and hear something about what was going on in his life.  Always about Chandler is doing this now. Or Steph and I did this last week.  He would every time say when are you coming to see me!!!  And we always told each other we loved each other.  It doesn't seem fair.  I am gonna miss you buddy more than you will ever know.  I will be looking for the red bird to show up at my house soon.  I told Wendi it must take him a while to fly here from Jacksonville.  You had the biggest heart and I loved it, and I am truly going to miss you!!! I wish I could have heard your conversation with St. Peter before those gates opened I know you made him laugh.  

Blake was my friend and co-worker. I will miss him. While I'm a number of years older we had so many common traits and experiences it was uncanny. He always had a funny story or joke to share and made our (at times intense and stressful) jobs much easier to deal with during the those times. My sincere condolences to Stephanie, Chandler and all of Blake's family and friends.
