
Blanchard King Lewis, Jr. (B.K.), beloved husband to Vivian for 67 years, passed away on June 29, 2014 at the age of 88. He was born in Jacksonville on October 16, 1925 to Blanchard King and Edna Mae Lewis. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and then proudly served in the United States Army Air Forces as a tail gunner during WWII. After returning from the war, he began his 36-year career with Southern Bell. B.K. enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and playing golf with friends. B.K. was a long-time member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family, including his children, Mike and Debbie Lewis, Judy and Donnie Jarrett, Barry and Peggy Lewis and Kyle and Melissa Stevens. He leaves a legacy of 9 granddaughters and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 3, 2014, 1:00 pm with memorial services immediately following at 2:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4315 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to our preferred non-profit charity, Kaleb Kares.
