
Bonnie Ann Nechodom Kambach passed away February 27, 2021 at the age of 72. Bonnie was born May 9, 1948 in New York City to Joseph and Eileen Nechodom. She was the oldest of six children. Her family moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1961, where she graduated high school in 1966. After graduating high school, she met the love of her life, James Kambach, and the two were later married. They lived in Ocala, Florida while Jim was training to be a specialist for a nuclear power plant. The young couple then made their home in St. Joseph, Michigan. Bonnie and Jim soon expanded their family, welcoming their two sons Brandon and Benjamín. Bonnie worked as a receptionist in an ophthalmology office in St. Joseph, and later in her son, Brandon’s orthopaedic surgery office. Later in their life, Bonnie and Jim relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to family. After Jim’s passing in 2014, Bonnie continued to live in Jacksonville. Bonnie was a ceramic enthusiast, making very detailed ceramic decorative objects which she gave as gifts to family members and friends. She and Jim were fans of the Green Bay Packers. Bonnie’s true passion in life was taking care of others. Whether it was taking care of her elderly father or providing companionship and care for her ailing sister, or being a grandmother, Bonnie brought great comfort and joy to all whose lives she touched.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, James Kambach, her parents Joseph and Eileen Nechodom, her sister Susan Cratem, her brother-in-law John Buda and her niece Andrea Nechodom Hall. She is survived by her children, Brandon (Sarah) Kambach and Benjamin (Casey) Kambach, her grandchildren Ashley, Samantha, Sydney, and Ameleigha, her sisters Cynthia Buda Flinchbaugh and Victoria Harrell, her brothers Paul and Matthew Nechodom, her brothers-in-law Dr. John Flinchbaugh and Ted Harrell, and her sisters-in-law Oonagh Nechodom and Deana Nechodom. Bonnie also had 14 loving nieces and nephews. She had a very special relationship with her niece Madison Buda.
A Celebration of Bonnie’s Life will be held on Friday, March 19th at 11:00am at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 followed by a committal service at 1:30pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
