Brad grew up in Spring Park and graduated from Wolfson High School and Florida State University. He was a retired Registered Nurse. Brad was an avid cyclist enjoying daily 40 miles, and loved surfing and running the Gate River Run every year. Brad's other passion in life was animals; he had pets of every description.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Victoria Hewey, brothers Victor and Lloyd. Brad is survived by his brother Earl Hewey, Jacksonville, FL, significant other, Patricia "Patty" Roberts, loving dogs Lucy and Willow, multiple cats, his two best friends since childhood, Ed Houston of Jupiter, FL and Bill Bruen of Jacksonville, FL.
We want to acknowledge our gratitude to Mayo Clinic especially to nurse Hannah, and Dr. Butts; to Community Hospice Hadlow Center for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Jacksonville Humane Society or PanCan Pancreatic Cancer research to find a cure.
