Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, as the world celebrated the end of World War II, Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late William Floyd Parrott, Sr. and Mary Kathryne (Hollingsworth) Parrott. Shortly after her birth, her family returned to their deep roots in the close-knit community of LaFollette, Tennessee. Brenda's own remarkable love story began at the tender age of 16 when she married her soulmate, Mickey Nichols. Their enduring partnership, spanning an incredible 63 years, was the cornerstone of her life. Together, they built their first home in Knoxville, Tennessee, nurturing their young family. In 1974, embracing new opportunities, Brenda and Mickey moved with their children to Jacksonville, Florida, where they established a warm and welcoming home for decades.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Brenda found strength and purpose in her spiritual life. This faith was the wellspring of her boundless love and loyalty. Her family was her universe. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mickey; her loving daughter, Sebrina Nichols Duffin; her cherished son, Darren M. Nichols; her adored siblings William F. Parrott, Jr., Debbie Parrott, and Donna Parrott Rankin; six treasured grandchildren; and five precious great-grandchildren, with two more little ones eagerly anticipated – each one held an irreplaceable place in her heart. Her home radiated warmth, and her friends were considered family, enveloped in the same fierce affection.
Brenda was predeceased by her beloved parents and her dear older sister, Carole Wynn (Parrott) Hodge.
