

DORAN – Brian P. Doran, age 74, went home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 after losing his struggle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. on April 7, 1940, he and his family lived primarily in Jacksonville, FL. since July 1972 after moving from Grand Rapids, MI.He is preceded in death by his father, Austin Timothy (Otto), his mother, Catherine Agnes (Murphy), brothers Charles Bryce, Roy Joseph, and James Clyde and sisters Helen Agnes (Rohen), Mary Lois (Peterson), and Shirley Ann (Suggitt).Brian is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann (Workman), daughter Kelly Sue, son David Roy, daughter-in-law Debra Ann (Rollins), grandson Brian James, and sister Virginia Phyllis (Sharp).Brian served his country in the US Army in Germany after volunteering for the draft in 1958. He subsequently worked in the trucking industry in MI, PA, NC, and FL for 46 years. During his career he held a wide variety of management positions. He received a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from Landstar System, Inc. in 2004.Brian and Ruth loved to travel and after his retirement he named their RV “Living our Dream.”Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3383 University Blvd. N. at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Friends are asked to join the family in remembering and celebrating Brian’s life at a reception in the parish center following the service.
