Carl James Demery

Carl Demery passed away in his home on August 15, 2010 after battling cancer. He was born in Detroit, MI on June 30, 1940. He is survived by his wife, Carole, and his children, Nicole and Christopher. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1963. After being honorably discharged, he enrolled at Wayne State University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance. He worked for Ford Motor Company and Upjohn Pharmaceuticals for several years before entering Graduate School at Wayne State. He was awarded his Doctorate in Economics in 1972. Upon graduation, he took a job with Blue-Cross of Michigan and he continued to work in the Blue Cross-Blue Shield system until he retired in 2001. Carl enjoyed golfing, going to the beach, reading books and spending time with his family. Memorial Service will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, August 28th in Hardage - Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Father John Tetlow as Celebrant. Floral arrangements or Memorial Contributions, made to a charity of your choice in Carl's name, will be accepted.
