Carol Rae Phelps

She was born September 29, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN to Gladys and Paul Harlan. After graduating in 1953 from Ben Davis High School, she attended Tennessee Temple University, where set met her husband and she received her PHT and MRS degree. Through the years, she worked as a kindergarten teacher, a school secretary, as well as working in the banking industry. In addition, she worked alongside her husband of 60 plus years, O’Neil, in the ministry.

She was a member of First Conservative Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL where she served as a pianist.

Carol was preceded in death by her loving sisters, Pauline (Husband Jay), Kathryn (Husband Bus), Ruth (Husband Charles) and Melba (Husband Ray). She is survived by her children Charlotte, David (Judy), Allen (Vivian) and Wanda (Jeff). She is also survived by four grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at First Conservative Baptist Church at 12021 Old St. Augustine Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32258
