Carolyn Kraus, December12, 1937-May 28, 2015Carolyn Crawford Kraus, 77, passed away after a brief illness on May 28. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Fort Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Rd., with Rev Ricky Powell, Rev. John Shultz and Dr. James Flanagan officiating, interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.Carolyn was a devoted mother and is survived by her children who loved her dearly: two daughters, Lori Nesbitt, Kelli Kraus, two sons, Frank A. (Tony) Kraus, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Michael Kraus. She was Da to her nine grandchildren, Amy, Kyle and Kailyn Kraus, Ann and Kristy Nesbitt, Stetson Kraus and Trey, Kaitlynn and Jack Avery. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Frank A. Kraus, Sr.Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and graduated from Landon High School in 1956. She worked at Metropolitan insurance Company and then became a full-time mom to her children. She was involved in all their church and school activities. Her door was always open to their friends and was Mom Two to several of them. Once they were all in high school, she resumed her insurance career as an Associate at Robert Tison and Associates providing group health and life insurance to many large companies. She was an active member of her church and Central Civitan Club.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Fort Caroline Baptist Church or Luther Rice University/Seminary in Atlanta, GA.
