Carolyn Juanita Miles

Our beloved mother, Carolyn Juanita Miles, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 92, and was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Patrick Lane Miles; they were married for 68 years when he passed, sharing an amazing and enduring love. She is survived by her four children—Lane Miles (Beth Miles), Cindie Allen (Greg Allen), Suzzie Douglas (Roy Douglas), and Bill Miles (Gregg Moore)—who are forever grateful for the extraordinary love and strength she poured into our lives. She also leaves behind six grandchildren—Kristen Triplett (Brian), Joey Allen (Brynn), Josh Allen (Sarah), Ashton Douglas Brokaw (Harley), David Tanner (Kim), and Chris Tanner—and ten great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.

Born in Baxley, Georgia, Mom lived a life rooted deeply in faith. She loved studying the Bible, participated in several Bible study groups, and found comfort and purpose in God’s Word. Her faith guided her, and she shared it gently with everyone around her.

Mom had a special love for flowers, especially roses and gerbera daisies, which reflected her bright and gentle spirit. She also loved traveling—by land, sea, and air—and she and Pat explored nearly every state, even journeying as far as Israel. But her greatest happiness was always time spent with her family.

Carolyn and Pat were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Downtown Jacksonville, where she served in the Children’s Ministry for many years. Her kindness, patience, and steady presence touched many lives.

Most of all, she was a wonderful mother—loving, supportive, and deeply devoted to her family. Even as she bravely battled Alzheimer’s for over twelve years, she remained a very pleasant and kind lady, touching those around her with her gentle spirit. Her legacy lives on in all of us who were blessed to be loved by her. Though we will miss her deeply, we rejoice knowing she is now at peace and home with the Lord she cherished.

The service celebrating Carolyn’s life will held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, located at 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, on December 27, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.
