Carolyn A. Powell, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rev. A. Lloyd Powell, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Whitehurst (Michael); sons, Lee Powell (Debbie) and Arthur Powell III; sister, Sara Cook; and two grandchildren, Cameron and Paige Whitehurst. She is predeceased by her brother Roger Cook, and her sisters Sandra Cook and Jane Fells. The family would like to thank Heartland South of Jacksonville for caring for Carolyn the last two years. There will be a service at Bonaventure Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Rd., Savannah, Georgia 31404, on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hope Community Church Children’s ministry, 1710 Kernan Blvd. N., Jacksonville, Florida 32225
