I first met Carolyn and her husband, (Pastor) Mike, when I joined the summer staff of Toccoa Wilderness Ministries. To the present, I still hold the summer of 1983 as one of the rich highlights of my life.
The Carolyn I recall personified the gifts of service and hospitality. She faithfully and humbly served her Lord, her family, their ministry and staff. Behind the scenes, with her ever-present lists, she quietly went about her business. The most memorable of her roles was, perhaps, that of family/staff cook. Evening "family" dinner was always a highlight of the day.
I remember fondly and often my brief stint at the Shallowford Bridge in Blue Ridge, GA. Carolyn is loved ❤ and will be missed.

What a difference one special life made in so many, many lives. She was a true LADY in every sense of the word and her passing leaves the world a little less bright. We love you so and will miss you.

Carolyn has been my dearest friend for many years, she was like a sweet sister to me. I've been so blessed to have known her, and I will truly miss her. Our two sons worked on staff during their High School summers with Mike & Carolyn at Toccoa Wilderness Camp. They loved it, and were so influenced by Mike's walk with the Lord and his commitment to the Lord and to the Camp, so much so, that they went to a Christian college that had a camping program so they could start their own . Mike & Carolyn are definitly two of the most dedicated and humble people we've ever been around. There are many memories I have of times Carolyn and I spent together, many lunches , lots of trips to the chiropractor in Cleveland, TN-and while we were over there we'd go shopping at the mall. Times of helping her in the Camp kitchen. We had many laughs together, some tears too, and many precious times of prayer- mostly for our children. We always tried to encourage each other. She was always caring and cheerful-she could be sooo funny sometimes. She was very uplifting, always speaking about the Lord. She told me a couple times during her illness, that she just wanted to glorify Him through the illness, and I know if you were around or in contact with her during any of that time, you'd agree that she surly did accomplish that. She fought her good fight, she finished her race, and she kept the faith. I's so proud of her, and I know I will see her again one day!!!

Carolyn was a very precious & a special lady & friend. So glad that her & Pastor Reed served at San Jose so many years. They both loved the Lord & Pastor Reed was a great pastor, loved his people and had a very good sense of humor. We will miss Carolyn very much & really miss Pastor Reed as our pastor but wish him well at Baptist Association. Please keep in touch with us as time goes on & you have time to heal.

Mike, thank you and Carolyn for all the love and support you have given Ben. He saw your walk with God, and that was a great inspiration to him. It’s such a blessing for you to have had such a loving, caring wife. I pray for comfort for you and your family.

So privileged to have known Carolyn. She was so sweet and caring and I will surely miss her.

Love this sweet gentle compassionate lady! My daughter was blessed to be a frequent visitor to the camp that she and Pastor Reed ran. Her senior year ( 1998) Emily slid down a steep slope and severely twisted her ankle. So much so that Emily’s dad and I got a phone call from mike domke that night from the ER. She was bandaged and medicated. She would have to use crutches all that week, and would not be able to go on the hikes, repelling, etc. but said she didn’t want us to come get her. She wanted to see what God had in store for her. I just found out today that she stayed with Carolyn several days that week during the day while the kids were off hiking, etc., getting momma love at its finest!! Emily said they became very close very fast. Bless you for taking care of my first baby girl !
