Catherine Mary Richie Saraco passed away on February 7, 2020. Catherine was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on May 13, 1937 and relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1953. Catherine is pre-deceased by her mother Catherine Murphy Richie Houghton, father Frank J. Richie, and sister Sharon Houghton Joins. Catherine Graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1955. She was employed at Prudential Insurance Company, American Surety Company, St. Patrick’s Church Office, and retired from Bellsouth in 1999 after 20 years of service. Catherine is pre-deceased by her husbands, M. E. Dalton and J. V. Saraco. She is survived by her daughter Karen Ann Phillips (Frank), son Donald Allen Dalton, brother Michael T. Richie (Nancy), brother Sanford J. Houghton, sister Patricia Griffis, step-daughter Stephanie Saraco Carter, her step-grandson Ryan, step-son Joseph Saraco (Susan), step-grandson Samuel, 2 step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Catherine was a Christian and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Hospice foundation of Northeast Florida, or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at Hardage-GIddens Greenlawn, 4300 Beach Boulevard, on Sunday 2/16/2020 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256, on Monday 2/17/2020 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn at 2:00pm.

Cathy was a wonderful neighbor. She was the first person to welcome me to our little area here at Hillwood. Her friendly smile has been missed these past months.
