Cathy Lynn Catoe (Athans)

Born 08/27/56, Cathy was the daughter of Amos Catoe & Ruth Stogner Catoe. Her father Amos served in the Army during the Korean & Vietnam conflicts with Honor, Courage and Bravery receiving multiple Honors and Medals for his service of 6 tours in Vietnam. She grew up with her brother Dennis Catoe and sister Linda Catoe in Columbia, SC. She attended Keenan High School and graduated from the University of South Carolina with Business and Science Bachelor’s degrees. She loved her work as a Business Computer Analyst. Moving to Jax. Fl in 1986, she was employed by GTE and Verizon as a Systems Analyst until her disability in 1995.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Amos and Ruth Catoe and her sister Linda Catoe Derrick and her son Micheal Derrick. She is survived by her brother Dennis Catoe and his daughter Jasmine along with her brother-in-law Floyd Derrick and his children Shelby and Bryan Derrick.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law Martha Athans and her loving husband of 50 years, Stephen P. Athans who stood by her and cared for her over these many years until her passing.

Cathy will be remembered for her strong will. She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness of others and her purity of heart and soul. She loved the nature of the world and its beauty. Her pets were so loved by her and they gave her such joy and comfort, love only dog owners Know. She always said when she gets to heaven her privilege will be to name all the animals.
