Charles Coleman

Born on December 28, 1954, to Charles Coleman Sr and Rosa Nell Stewart, Charles spent most of his youth living in Beaumont, Texas. While living there, he attended Charlton Pollard High School. While there, he met Patricia Ann Daniels and the two of them started a long lasting and loving relationship that spanned over half a century. After graduating in 1973, he then attended Prairie View A&M University, working on getting his business degree. During his tenure, Charles and Patricia got married on August 16, 1975, and remained together for 49 years.

After getting his degree in 1977, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Navy and had a long career in serving this country as an officer both active and as a reserve, retiring with the rank of Lt. Commander. During his time in the Reserve, he also worked in the civilian field, working much of his work life for First Union, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo.

After officially retired, Charles spent the rest of his years being a great husband to Patricia, and loving father to their 3 children, a supportive brother, and a caring grandfather to his only grandchild.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, his son Deon, his daughter Kenya, his granddaughter Imani, his brother Michael, his sister Trina (Jacquet), and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his son Jamal, his parents, his sister Denise, and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be held Friday, October 4th at Corey-Kerlin at 10am. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors.
