

As a young man he spent two years in the United States Army where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He went into a career in computer applications programming, working for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad for many years before merging with CSX Technology and relocating to Jacksonville to continue his career. He retired in January 1997, after completing 37 years of service. Charlie was a quiet and humble man who enjoyed his family, bowling, horse racing, football and Jazz music.
He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Mary Frank, parents, Charles and Thelma Frank, and sister, Barbara Moseley.
Charlie leaves behind his children: Charles Frank, Elizabeth "Libby" Frank, Holly Greer, Paula Myrick and husband Curtis and Kathy Pierce; 3 brothers and 2 sisters; 6 grandchildren: Erica, Meilin, Jennifer, Kimberly, Charlotte, and Elijah; 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm on Tuesday, June 9 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
