
Born on September 30, 1923 in Winter Haven, Florida the son of Clarence Henry Lamb and Ila Johnson Lamb, he lived there until World War II. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Medical Corps in the Pacific Theater. After the war on his return to Winter Haven, he worked with his father in the Lamb Furniture Company. In 1962 he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to work with Independent Life Insurance Company until retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a kind and gentle man who loved people. He went out of his way to care for people who needed assistance. On his retirement he joined the St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed many years of service. He like the simple life and enjoyed getting on his boat to go fishing. He had a great appreciation of music which began as a child when he learned to play the violin and later the trombone. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and never missed a concert as long as he was able to attend.
He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter, Susan Ila Lamb, and sister, Mildred Smith-Crowder. He is survived by his children Charles Edward Lamb. Jr. and Victoria Lamb Hawkins; grandchildren Charles Lamb III, Christopher Lamb, Matthew Lamb, and Joshua Lamb; great-granchild Lachlan Lamb, Sydney, Australia; Brother Donald Ray Lamb, Sebring, FL. Sisters Margaret Lamb Katros, Winter Haven, Fl, and Doris Lamb Boone, Jacksonville, Fl., and many nieces and nephews as well.
Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery, Winter Haven, Florida at a later date.
