
Charles Donald “Don” Mandeville, died on Wednesday, June 8th 2016 at the VAMC in Gainesville, Florida. Born in 1926 in Warsaw, New York, he served in the US Navy in WWII and was a participant in the Normandy Invasion and Pacific Campaigns. Married to Gwendolyn Fitzgerald in 1948, he graduated from Florida State University.
Don was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, all of New York. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, one surviving brother, Ray Mandeville of Spencerport, New York; three sons, Charles A Mandeville of Fort Mill, South Carolina, David P. Mandeville of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and Paul G. Mandeville of Gainesville, Florida. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Don was a bi-vocational Baptist minister and locksmith and retired from Mobile Locksmith of Gainesville in 1992. Funeral services will be held at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church in Jacksonville, on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 12:00pm and interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery the same day.
