

Charles Henry McGee, 86, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on March 22, 2024. He was born on March 29, 1937, in Timmonsville, South Carolina. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Charles enjoyed spending time with his friends and large family. He had a passion for gardening and traveling in their RV. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, his dog “Pumpkin”, watching westerns, listening to classic country music and eating breakfast at Hardee’s with friends on Tuesdays. In his earlier days, he was also a competitive bowler and enjoyed square-dancing with his lovely bride.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia McGee, his sons Vic McGee (Theresa), Troy McGee (Leanne), and Chris McGee (Paige), his brother Frank McGee (Zella Mae), his sisters Frances McLaughlin, Louise Tallent (Jody), Rachel Lee, and Peggy Leviner; grandchildren, Ryan McGee, Lindsay Sinnema (Cody), Kristina McGee, Sean McGee (Rachel), Lauren Vecchiarelli (Anthony), Danielle Perez (Oscar), Jacquelin Corl (Matthew), Riley McGee, and Sydney McGee; great grandchildren, Weston McGee, Asher McGee, Ansley McGee, Jessica Corl, Athena Corl, Iris Corl, Oliver Perez, Indigo Perez, Matias Perez, Chloe Creekmore, Cameron Creekmore, Calvin Sinnema, Raelyn Sinnema and many nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Mattie McGee, his brothers Laverne McGee and Runt McGee and his sister Judy Lane.
Charles attended Bonaire High School where he participated in the Future Farmers of America Club and following graduation attended a business college. Charles had a successful sales career in office products and owned Advantage Office Products with wife, Patricia, for 20 years.
Charles worshipped at Fruit Cove Baptist Church for 43 years where he ushered and was active in his Sunday School class. He also enjoyed serving at Hope’s Closet with Patricia for several years.
Charles could talk to anyone, and he never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and his love and dedication to his family and the boss, “Mom”.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at Hardage-Giddens at 11801 San Jose Blvd at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 28, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory. In honor of Charles, the family will be wearing blue jeans and requests that family and friends do so also. The visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 27, for those that would like to attend.
In lieu of flowers, Patricia is requesting that memorial contributions be made to support the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the missions account of Troy & Leanne McGee serving in Uganda, Africa.

A visitation for Charles will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A funeral service will occur on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Chapel at 1:30 PM.
