

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Cheryl Rae Anderton (Morrison) on May 27, 2025, at the Alice and T. O’Neal Douglas Center for Caring at Baptist Medical Center, Community Hospice & Palliative Care in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 81 years.
She will lovingly be remembered by her two children, Duane Anderton (Rochelle) and Dawn Jordan (Wayne T.), her grandchildren Joshua, Brooke, Angelina, and Dylan, her sister, Arlyn Dockery (Morrison), her niece Jennice Otto (Sam), and her loyal pet dog and sidekick, Buster.
Cheryl was born on December 20, 1943, in Canton, Ohio. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Vernice Morrison (Glomb), her husband, William (Andy) Anderton.
We give so much gratitude and appreciation to Brooks Rehabilitation Home Health Care over the past year of being with her in her home and supporting our family. Also, the respect and dignity given to Mom and family from everyone there at the Alice and T. O’Neal Douglas Center for Caring at Baptist Medical Center, Community Hospice & Palliative Care was truly a blessing.
Cheryl graduated from Boone High School in Orlando, FL in 1961, then her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida while she was attending Florida State University and graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in Elementary Education in 1966. Cheryl began her teaching career in Duval County at Mattie V. Rutherford Elementary, then Jacksonville Beach Elementary, and lastly at Fort Caroline Elementary, working 30 years alongside a loving faculty and staff. She retired with 35 years of dedicated service and had a lasting effect on hundreds of students and families. She enjoyed keeping herself involved with her Teacher’s Sorority, Hummel Collectors Club, Ponte Vedra Chapter of The Daughters of American Revolution, Colonial Dames, and the Mayflower Society. Cheryl was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she assisted in the Fellowship Hall after the weekly services for the Meet and Greets. She also enjoyed volunteering with her friends in the Seniors Group preparing
Braille Bibles for the Iris Lending Library for the Blind and she loved supporting students and teachers in her spare time at Grace Lutheran’s School. Cheryl Rae Anderton will be dearly missed by so many.

A Celebration of Life for Cheryl will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 12200 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
