Cheryl Terese Dionne, age 66, beloved wife and mom, passed away Sunday, November 27th, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville from complications due to COVID Pneumonia. Cheryl was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 5th, 1956 to parents Norma Blinn and Roger Hayes. Cheryl is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph T. Dionne, her devoted daughter Danielle Dionne-Pacowta (husband Alex), sister Pam Harned (husband Cole), brother Gary Hayes (wife Victoria), and SO many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and long-time friends. Cheryl loved spending time with her family, going for walks at the Jacksonville Arboretum because she said that sitting by the lake reminded her of being at Black Creek when she was little and it was peaceful to her. She loved to play painting games on her phone, was a very proud “Mimi” to all her grandpuppies, and loved her “kids” (her cats) Mikey, Molly, Smoke, & Biscuit. Even though most of Cheryl’s life was spent fighting various health issues, it was her love of family and her tenacity and strength of spirit that pushed her throughout her life. That spirit will continue in the hearts of those who loved her. A Christian Mass will be held at Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, 32207, at 11:00 am, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, with Father Larkin officiating. A visitation with family members will be held at 10:00 am just prior to the funeral Mass.
