Dee was born in Nashville, Georgia, but called Jacksonville his home. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty. He was a devoted father to his four children, DeAnna Jackson (David), Gina Morton (Mitch), Robbie Gaskins, and preceded in death, Kenny Gaskins (Bonnie). He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren who all had a special name for him. He responded to the names Grandpa, O’Pa, and Pepa with a smile. He was a great grandfather to many sweet great grandchildren who brought him joy.
Dee had recently retired from Westside Electric, after decades of working in many different fields to provide an amazing life for his family. He was a jack of all trades and the person who could either fix a problem for you or knew someone else who could. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family as he reminisced about days gone by, while listening to Brooks and Dunn, and enjoying a nice glass of scotch. He will be missed immensely by his family and friends.
A celebration of Dee’s life will be held on Saturday August 20, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, located at 940 Cesery Blvd.
